LIFE PROJECT – Optimizagua
Soria Natural, within its research and innovation work, always respecting the Environment, has participated in the OPTIMIZAGUA Project with significant results, developed within the framework of the European Union LIFE Environment Project, to demonstrate water saving techniques in agricultural farming.
This experimental prototype is located in the ecological crops of Soria Natural (in Garray - Soria), and has been carried out over a surface area of 20,000 m2, with the experiment being applied to contrast the wheat and corn crops.
The implemented system is capable of generating different irrigation plans according to needs and climatic conditions, all under efficiency criteria.
The experimental plantation area is equipped with intelligent irrigation prototypes that are powered by renewable energy and are fitted with sensors to detect the level of moisture in the ground, a weather station that records rainfall, temperature and wind speed and direction and solar radiation, which means the irrigation can be carried out under efficient water management criteria.
